Bronze Age - Goalkeepers

Hellstrom - "In Sweden, everything is fine as usual, but every time I visit Kaiserslautern I get a sensational reception. My fans know when I'm coming and still meet me already at the airport".
The legendary Ronnie Hellstrom is Sweden's best goalkeeper of all time, ranked number one in the world in both 1974 and 1978 World Cups. In the 70s and 80s, everyone was impressed by the blond Swede with the giant mustache and sideburns and the panther leap between the posts.
"Even the best in the world, who can fly in the penalty area, must land at some point. But don't think that I will lie in the hammock as a pensioner..."

Pfaff - Jean Marie Pfaff has been remembered in his career more for his histrionic, almost clownish nature, than for having 3 Bundesliga titles with Bayern Munich or for having won the goalkeeper of the year award in 1987. Pfaff's career is studded with strange episodes, which fit well with that idea of goalkeepers that speaks of recklessness, of the latency of rules, of that desire to be flying while remaining prisoners of their own goal. Like that time, Euro 1976, when Cruyff scored him a goal and he decided to go and congratulate him. Or when, leaning on the goalpost, he decided to eat an apple that had rained down on him from the stands.
Even if he had a clown nickname, also due to the fact of his enormous self-esteem: "Merckx in cycling, me in football", something had to give him some trust to talk about himself in this way.

Zoff - The summer of 1972 is important above all for the arrival at Juventus of an exceptional player and man: Dino Zoff. Between the black and white and blue jerseys, hr began the most beautiful and glorious part of his career at thirty years of age, , the age at which other footballers are old...
Juventus offered him the bench, in the summer of 1988; Dino accepted, and brought his friend Gaetano Scirea with him on the adventure. It seemed like happiness, but destiny is a ferocious beast that lies in wait; it took Scirea away in a damned car accident, in Poland, and Zoff suddenly felt a little more alone. "I really miss the support of a true friend like Gaetano Scirea. I feel poorer. And it makes me angry that he received the right honors only after his death. Before, he had been forgotten. The fact is that in this world, the good, the correct, the true man is banal".
