Golden Age - Goalkeepers

Planicka - Agility was his strong point and that is why he was nicknamed "the Prague cat". He started playing football in small teams; big teams'  officials decided that he was too small at 170 centimeters. Instead, he headed to Slavia, where he anchored permanently.
In the 1934 World Cup Plánicka stood in the goal like a bulletproof barrier, his teammates gradually destroyed Romania, Switzerland, and in the semifinal Germany.
The performances of the Czechoslovak team worried even the Duce himself, who had a referee brought to the box before the start of the final.  Swedish referee Ivan Eklind, after listening to Mussolini's instructions, pardoned the Italians for common offenses and raw fouls....
Although Planicka's team went home with silver, the whole world considered him the winner. Crowds of cheering fans accompanied the train from the border to Wilson's railway station, and they were celebrated by a crowd of hundreds of thousands on Wenceslas Square.
At the age of 34, he retired as a living legend and a role model for future generations of footballers. His exemplary sports behavior, for which he received the UNESCO Honorary Fair Play Diploma and further the Title of Football Knight for a responsible attitude towards fair play rules, which he also followed in his personal life.

Zamora - Nickname "Divino", the inventor of the famous zamorana, a spectacular elbow clearance. As a person, he had charisma and leadership skills comparable only to those of Samitier. Years later, in 1967, football paid him a grand tribute with a match between the Spanish national team and Rest of the World.

Plattko - signed with Barcelona in 1923 with the titanic mission of making another ideal goalkeeping myth forgotten: Ricardo Zamora. In 1928 the poet from Cadiz Rafael Alberti immortalised him with an emotional poem after his heroic performance in the final of the Spanish Championship, when he returned to the pitch despite having received a strong kick to the head. Alberti dedicated such lyrical epithet to him as "fiery tiger in the grass of another country".
